Australian International School (AIS) Speech and Drama program

Recently we were invited by Australian International School (AIS) to watch Kidsfest - Dear Santa, a Christmas Production based on the book by Rod Campbell. This invitation is to introduce their new Speech and Drama program that will be launching in January 2016 for 3 year olds and above as part of their core Early Years curriculum.

The Australian International School (AIS) is launching an Early Years Speech and Drama program in association with the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). A further partnership with Kidsfest, launched in celebration of this program, offers increased theatre exposure to AIS children and the wider community.

LAMDA, the oldest drama school in the UK with 150 years of proven experience, builds a structured drama program that leverages research linking a performing arts education to benefits for children including better academic achievement, improved standardized test scores, as well as the ability to nurture confident speakers with a rich and varied vocabulary.

AIS’ Speech and Drama program is an integral part of an enhanced specialist Early Years curriculum for children aged 18 months to 5 years. The curriculum includes daily maths, Mandarin, the weekly Accelerated Literacy Program and the SMART Steps physical education program.

Andre Casson, Principal at AIS comments, “We are exceptionally excited about our collaboration with specialist educators in delivering an enhanced curriculum.”
To complement the new specialist Early Years curriculum, AIS is building a new state-of-the-art campus complete with a 22m swimming pool, a large sports gym, 5 library and learning resource centers, 9 arts and language specialist classrooms in one centrally-located facility. The new campus will be an extension to the existing Lorong Chuan School, 10 minutes from Orchard, and opening in 2017.

The Australian International School (AIS), is the world’s most popular Australian school offering the best of the International Baccalaureate and the Australian curricula from 18 months to 18 years.

Disclaimer : We received complimentary tickets to watch Kids Fest - Dear Santa! performed by London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) in exchange for this post, no other compensation was received.
