Today a reader, tomorrow a leader.

"So please, oh PLEASE, we beg, we pray,
Go throw your TV set away,
And in its place you can install,
A lovely bookshelf on the wall."
- Roald Dahl, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Yes! We love books!  And No! we did not and will not ditch our very-expensive-forty-something-inch-smart tv but we ARE running out of bookshelves to keep our books collection!!!

We were exposed to books since at very young, I remember our weekly trips to the National Library with Mum where we will stay for around 30mins before we leave. each with at least 3 books borrowed from the library, for our shop in Bras Basah.  I was eager to read, hunger for the adventures and places I will go, I could finish a novel in 3-4 days, sometimes read the books again and again so that I can go on the adventure all over again.  Ah!  The wonders of Books!

I introduced books to DinoEgg when he was a toddler, a time where he barely knows the meaning of books let alone to sit down quietly and patiently while I read to him.  Many a times he will run off after 2 pages.  It gets better when he is older, I can read a few books to him without him being distracted or running off.  He started to read the books himself earlier this year so I decided to have a Reading Time routine for both of us.  We will sit on my bed and read for about 30 mins.  Sometimes I'm so tired that my eyes will start to close before i reach then end of 1 page.  At times like this, I will tell him that I'm off to dreamland, he will continue to finish the books (minimum 3 books), after that he will switch off the lights and goes to bed himself.

I am glad that he adores books just like me.  I hope he will always find time to read an extensive range of books, in the process gaining knowledge and wisdom from them.
